We struck a problem today when we tried to view an old html website with internet explorer 8 (IE8). For some reason the background image on the html site would not show up in IE8. which was interesting seeing as it would show up using earlier versions of IE so we figured pretty quickly that it was a coding issue. Turns out to be quite a major issue wich i won’t go into but if you want the nitty gritty and have some time you might want to read this article http://www.alistapart.com/articles/beyonddoctype Its a css issue that needs the code
<meta http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=8″ />
to be inserted into the head of the document for it to render correctly using ie8
yay microsoft! nice one! …IE8 needs to be told to act like IE8 when it comes to css
